The VP220 is the perfect home seaker
Chamber sealers are light years ahead of vacuum type sealers, but generally shied away from for 2 reasons: maintenance and size/storage. The VP220 is a dream to use, and doesn’t require messy oil changes. It had a big internal capacity, bigger than the new popular Wolf and Miles chamber vacuum sealer drawers, and a fraction of the price!! The bigger 12” seal bar is a big plus too! Now for storage- READ CAREFULLY- this really works!! I had a lot of master’s on EGullrt when I posted this, but have stored my machine in a pantry pull-out for almost 8 years now (the VP 220 replaced a Polyscience 300 unit, which broke after a year and a half or so). Anyway, the glides in many (? most) wooden pantry pull-outs in todays better kitchen cabinets are rated to 150 pounds (according to the techs at Crystal cabinets). The pull-out base needs to be stabilized- I bought the stabilizers from the cabinet company after an extensive discussion on retrofitting my cabinet pull-out. The stabilizers are simply 2 4” wide, half inch thick wood supports running from front yo back of the pullout, screwed into the front and back of the pullout, supporting the underside of the pullout base. The screw holes were countersunk. I paid more, thinking it was some fancy metal support, but it was a few dollars of wood which was simple to install and holds up beautifully. Pull out your use the sealer and close the top and then the pull-out when storing. No need to use valuable counter space or find a spot for the cart. And no need for a $3k vacuum sealer drawer if you want it in your kitchen. Trust me, it works!!
