How Do I Choose Between Suction and Chamber Sealers?

This is one of the most common questions we hear from vacuum sealer shoppers. You have already decided that a vacuum sealer is a great addition to your life, now you have what feels like the daunting task of choosing your machine- we want to take the stress out of that decision!

The first think you need to decide is whether a chamber machine or a suction machine will be more useful to you- this decision should be based on how you plan to use the machine. The largest deciding factor is going to come down to whether or not you will be sealing liquids.

Chamber Vacuum Sealer

Can you vacuum seal liquids? Yes, you certainly can vacuum seal liquids, though you will need a chamber vacuum machine to do so here are a few that are common:  Chamber

• Soups

• Marinades

• Beverages (especially for Sous Vide)

If you would like to use your vacuum sealer for any of these items you will want to go the rout of chamber rather than suction. You are able to vacuum seal liquids in a chamber machine because rather than removing the air from the pouch it removes the air from the entire chamber leaving the air pressure equal both inside and outside the pouch and keeping liquids securely inside the pouch.

Suction Vacuum Sealer

The suction vacuum sealer is the more traditional vacuum sealer, also commonly known as external vacuum sealers. These machines simply suck all of the air out of the desired bag and then provide an air tight seal. These machines are perfect for use around the home allowing to to vacuum seal a variety of items including:

   Suction                                                                                                       • Game

                                                                                                           • Leftovers

                                                                                                         • Coffee Beans/grounds

                                                                                                           • Out of season clothing

                                                                                                            • Extra bedding

                                                                                                            • Firearms and ammo

                                                                                                            • This list doesn't end!
