Thanksgiving Leftovers- Crispy Stuffing Waffles Covered In a Creamy Turkey and Mushroom Gravy With Cranberry Sauce
It's the same every year, once Thanksgiving is over; you've had a blast with your family, and ate until your belly was stuffed! Now you are left with a bunch of leftovers that you don't know what to do with. First things first, if you haven't already, make sure you vacuum package your leftovers, and freeze what you won't be using for a while. Food stored in VacMaster® bags stays fresh up to 5X longer than with traditional storage methods. Separate your leftovers into meal sized portions, bag and seal, then store either in the fridge or freezer and reheat as needed.
Looking for a fun way to use all these leftovers? Chef Eric puts your waffle iron to use for these tasty waffles using your leftover stuffing: There is no real need for recipe here I just want you to use whatever you have handy and the amounts are totally up to you!
All you’re going to need is some onions and mushrooms along with your leftover stuffing, gravy, turkey and cranberry sauce.
Directions:
1. Simply start by hauling out the old waffle maker and preheat it according to your manufacturers directions and fill up with your leftover stuffing.
2. While that is working away, sauté a bit of onions and mushrooms with some butter in a large sauté pan until the onions and mushrooms are slightly browned. Toss in bite-sized chunks of your turkey and top with the gravy. Bring the whole delicious mix to a simmer and season at will. Some fresh herbs maybe, salt and pepper whatever you have handy.
3. Check on those waffles, they should be crispy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside - this could take anywhere from 10-15 minutes or more depending on your waffle maker.
When they are ready, place them on a serving plate and top with the hot turkey mixture. Give them a quick dollop of cranberry sauce and you're set for a post holiday treat!
