Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Hamburger buns
Instructions:
- Preheat your sous vide water bath to 155°F (68°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, ketchup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Divide the mixture into four equal parts and form each into a patty.
- Vacuum seal each patty in a separate vacuum sealer bag, making sure to remove as much air as possible.
- Place the sealed bags in the sous vide water bath and cook for 2 hours.
- Remove the bags from the water bath and carefully open them. Discard any excess liquid and transfer the contents of the bags to a bowl.
- Use a fork to break up the meat mixture and stir well.
- Toast the hamburger buns, if desired, and serve the sloppy joe mixture on top of the buns.
