Deception All Around
The first deception is that these bags really can't hold things 2.5" wide. They are not much more than 1.5" wide. Second, they are labeled as 3-mil and I attempted to use them for homemade jerky, but in 30% of uses a sharp place on the jerky will pierce the bag. They don't seem to be very tough. Finally while it appears all the reviews of this product give it 5 stars, that is deception #3. I rated it 3 stars but it displays 5. Don't believe everything you see. VACMASTER RESPONSE: Alan, we apologize for your disappointment in this product. The 2.5" width is in reference to the total width of the bag; however, the sides of the bag must be sealed, and that leaves the opening smaller. This item is intended for storage of sauces, frosting, and other items that don't require a large opening. Our 3-mil is our thinnest bag option, in other sizes we have 4-mil and 5-mil pouches available, as well as bone guards you may place in bags with sharper items. Thank you for your feedback.
